Guillaume Côté, Canadian classical dance star, draws inspiration from the myth of Ulysses to take his five dancers on an odyssey combining elegance and technical prowess.
What if traveling was, above all, a quest for oneself? Evoking the long and perilous journey of Ulysses, who took ten years to find his homeland and his family, the Côté Danse company explores in this new creation the contradictory desires that push us sometimes to seek the haven of familiarity, sometimes to venture towards unknown horizons.
By merging the vocabulary of classical ballet with contemporary forms, Guillaume Côté succeeds in giving the legendary tale a very current resonance and, once again, in demonstrating his exceptional technical mastery as well as his ability to touch the heart of the human experience.
