Mudam invites German artist Cosima von Bonin (born 1962 in Mombasa, Kenya) for a major monographic exhibition inhabited by cartoon characters and animals, including an in situ intervention in the museum's Grand Hall.
Renowned for her sculptural installations evoking pop culture, cartoons or the animal kingdom and the humorous look she takes at societal issues such as consumerism, mass entertainment or contemporary art, the German artist will present works created over the last ten years alongside new commissions and well-known pieces.
Join us for an unforgettable evening as Toronto drag queens Mary Messhausen and proddy produzentin, along with Buzz, perform Thonk Piece: 80% Twins, to kick off Cosima von Bonin's exhibition.
