Discover two centuries of fortifications.
An impressive system of fortifications, almost disappeared since the Treaty of London in 1867, defended not only Kirchberg but the whole fortress town. The first military constructions on the Kirchberg heights date back to Louis XIV. His military engineer Vauban, who had directed the siege against Luxembourg in 1684, subsequently reinforced the city fortifications. Feel free to embark on two-hour guided tours of these fortifications offered by the museum.
Participants should be equipped with suitable clothing, sturdy footwear, and a torch.
