The Namur region is the homeland of Félicien Rops, a controversial figure from Namur. In the morning, we will discover the many facets of this complex personality during a guided tour of the permanent collections at the Rops Museum, complemented by the temporary exhibition The Devil's Album. The Temptations of Félicien Rops, the first temporary exhibition dedicated to the artist by the museum since 1998, the centenary of Rops' death. Knowledge of his work is constantly evolving, and the scientific team has decided to set up a retrospective around the artist's unfinished project: The Devil's Album. It's a great way to fulfill a publication he had planned to create several times, as evidenced by his correspondence.
We'll then take the cable car up to the citadel esplanade and have lunch at Le Panorama restaurant, located on the Route Merveilleuse, at the top of the Citadel, where the menu is crafted by the twice-starred chef Yves Mattagne, offering a breathtaking view over the Meuse River and the city of Namur.
We will then head to Thozée Castle, in the municipality of Mettet, a manor dear to the heart of Félicien Rops.
