To open the season, the OCL climbs into the train to ride the roller-coaster portrayed by Katarina Leyman. It is a chance for the OCL to take a look at its past history and that which is still to be written.

The Swedish composer plays with childhood memories evoking powerful feelings, and it is with the same degree of excitement and surprise that the musicians accompany the violinist Alena Baeva in the Mozart concerto. The oriental references of the third movement revive the heat of summer, which find echo in the ‘Italian’ Symphony by Mendelssohn. This symphony alla Mozart, with the decidedly lively character of its rhythms and melodies, launches with panache the opening festivities of a season full of surprises.
