The Open Days at Cercle Cité, scheduled for two afternoons this year, invite the general public to discover its historic architecture, the main entrance, the vestibule, and the Bel-Étage with its rooms and lounges. Through guided tours in four languages, visitors can discover the history and architecture of Cercle Cité. Located on Place d'Armes, Cercle Cité is a central place in the city of Luxembourg and an international cultural center, where heritage meets contemporary culture. Constructed between 1904 and 1905, the building reflects Luxembourg's social life at the beginning of the 20th century, making it a place of memory, celebration, and commemoration. Its walls have witnessed the darkest hours of Nazi occupation, as well as the joys of the country's liberation. In the following decade, the Cercle became intrinsically linked to the country's industrial development, notably hosting meetings of the High Authority of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), the ancestor of the European Union.
