ASK ME
18:00 – 00:00
During the Night of Museums, our mediators will be present in the galleries to answer your questions and provide explanations about our exhibitions, artists and programs.
Drop in! Videowave with Mnemozine
19:00 – 00:00
Dive into the retro visual universe with vintage technologies. By manipulating video signals from iconic devices from the 1980s and 1990s, such as VHS recorders, surveillance cameras and game consoles, you will have the opportunity to create images that are both nostalgic and pixelated. Mnemozine is an interdisciplinary research and art collective based in Luxembourg. It hosts an online publishing platform and designs audiovisual installations and performances that combine obsolete and new media. The workshop is led by Mnemozine co-founders Mathieu Buchler (writer, visual artist and teacher) and Lynn Klemmer (multimedia artist).
Favorite
21:00 + 00:00
As in previous years, each museum offers a "favorite" visit. For this edition, seven museum professionals were invited to present their favorite work in one of the seven museums. The speakers familiarized themselves with the work of the museum in question in advance, in order to draw inspiration from it for their presentation. Mudam welcomes Simone Feis, curator at the Dräi Eechelen Museum. Feis studied history at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. Since 2007, she has worked at the Luxembourg Fortress Documentation Center, which was entrusted with the mission of designing and fitting out the Dräi Eechelen Museum in the historic Fort Thüngen.
Performance
tunk piece: 80% twins
22:00 – 23:00
thonk piece: 80% twins, a performance by Toronto-based drag queens Mary Messhausen and proddy produzentin, is presented as part of Cosima von Bonin's exhibition, Songs for Gay Dogs. The thonk piece performance series is a podcast presented as a visual audiobook. The series, titled thonk piece, takes the form of a podcast conceived as an audiovisual book. Broadcast online since 2020, the series has recently returned to live performances. The drag duo is known for their intoxicating voices that bring a unique energy to each performance. Mary Messhausen and proddy produzentin are two Toronto-based drag queens. For many years, they have participated in Cosima von Bonin's exhibition openings, infusing them with an unexpected je ne sais quoi.
