The gods hide Helen in Egypt, while Paris removes a cloud that has her appearance. Norma Jeane builds her own myth, Marilyn Monroe, the Hollywood star par excellence.

But are these two women just illusions? In any case, they are the object of desire. They trigger desires for domination and possession, provoke wars. They are the most precious good, the casus belli, and the trophy of war.

Anne Carson tells us the story of all women through these two legendary figures.
