Luxembourg is, at the heart of Europe, the daily laboratory of a living multilingualism. The plurality of languages, symbolized since the Bible by the episode of the Tower of Babel, constitutes a challenge and a wealth. Happy Babel? explores polyglossia and translation by placing them in a historical and philosophical perspective that goes beyond the Luxembourg area. Thanks to a rare constellation of masterpieces, objects and documents, exceptional or in daily use, the exhibition takes us on a journey through the representations of Babel and highlights the successes and impasses of translation, from the Rosetta Stone to artificial intelligence. It questions the conditions of a "happy Babel" (Roland Barthes), in space and time, up to our present day.

A reservation is recommended to guarantee you a place during the visit.
