Ave Clesen-Schmidt’s graphic visual language is defined by lush imagination and playing with the boundaries of the proportions and shapes while trying to keep the attitude to drawing or painting distinctive. In her work she observes an individual in the present world with its drama, absurdity, and comedy.

Ave Clesen-Schmidt is an Estonian born artist and illustrator living and working in Luxembourg since 2019. After graduating with a master’s degree in social sciences and working several years as a journalist and media professional, she decided to pursue her life-long love of creating visual art. Currently a freelance artist, she explores various creative pursuits such as illustration, collaborative work, and exhibitions.
