BGL BNP Paribas and Luxembourg Art Week are pleased to present a monographic exhibition of the German artist Jan Voss at La Villa, the Centre of Private Banking of BGL BNP Paribas, located on Boulevard Royal. Jan Voss was born in 1936 in Hamburg (Germany). He lives and works between Paris and Berlin. After studying at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich from 1956 to 1960, the German painter settled permanently in Paris. He was a professor at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he taught from 1987 to 1992. A monograph by Yves Michaud was published in 2001 and another by Anne Tronche in 2015. He has had major exhibitions notably at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Dunkerque in 2002, at the Synodal Palace of Sens in 2008, at Museum Arnhem in the Netherlands in 2010, at the Espace d'art contemporain André Malraux in Colmar in 2021. His works are now in the collections of many museums: Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Musée des Beaux-Arts de Dunkerque, Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.
