Chopin's Mazurkas with two world piano stars!
Grigory Sokolov will perform this major work by Chopin at the Philharmonie du Luxembourg in December 2024 and at Lang Lang in April 2025. These two works juxtapose the mazurkas with a piano cycle by Robert Schumann. Grigory Sokolov has selected the delightful Waldszenen (Forest Scenes), nine short pieces that reveal Schumann's sense of poetry as well as the proximity to nature so characteristic of the Romantic movement.
