With "Sensitive Papers", the fourth exhibition of its season, the Espace Beau Site inaugurates 2025 with Cécile Ahn, Geneviève Ensch, Isabelle Grevisse, and Philippe Guichart. Newspaper is knitted, enhanced with threads, beads, and pieces of wool in large dimensions as well as in small forms. This exploration of recovered, poor materials, like other varieties of paper, cut, woven, and organized by color registers, requires a slow and meticulous creation process. These are confetti embroideries, complex structures of twisted filaments, geometric elements in suspension, and openwork reliefs for strange lace architectures. On crumpled packaging paper, then mounted on cardboard, imaginary calligraphies in acrylic gouache develop as stylized compositions.
