Discover the beauty of the ancient “Johanna” underground galleries of the Slate Museum in Haut-Martelange!
You will be able to find the huge slate extraction chambers and learn more about the life and working conditions of slate workers 42m underground, all with photo/video projections and extraordinary illuminations! After testing it for you, we promise you a unique and fun ride to discover an extraordinary profession.
And you want to know the must of the must?? You'll even have the chance to cross the lowest bridge in Luxembourg and that's still super stylish!
After the visit, introduce your children to the pleasures of creation, including drawing on slates.

The museum also offers you a whole program of activities (from 4 years old): guided tours, creative workshops, a short train ride...
For the visit, bring good closed shoes (hiking type) and suitable clothing (a good warm coat). For information, the temperature inside the galleries is 8 to 9 degrees, summer and winter.
Guided tours take place by reservation and have a duration ranging from 90 minutes to 3 hours, depending on the choice of guided tour (4 different guided tours to choose from).
