Once upon a time there was an itch. It scratches itself and suddenly it is: a bear. A very positive-thinking bear who just wasn't there. In his pocket the bear finds a piece of paper that says: "Are you me?" "A very good question," he thinks and sets off to find out. On his search the bear meets the slow-moving salamander and the comfortable sofa mountain cow and makes old friends with them. He listens to his own silence and follows its sound. And finally, to his great joy, he finds himself. How many kinds of silence are there? Can you whistle faster than you can walk? Do things grow even if you don't look? Which way should I go? Who am I actually? The bear who wasn't there tells the story of the search for one's own identity and the joy of (self-)knowledge with delight, philosophy and absurd humor. An encouragement to approach the world openly, curiously and calmly and to discover yourself in it.
