Who remembers what?
Polyphonic Memories of the Carnation Revolution

The creative explosion of Portuguese cultural production that followed the Revolution of Freedom produced works that reflect both the utopian spirit and the violence of the dictatorship and the colonial war. Later works return to the memories of that time. Their variety and complexity complement, sometimes contradict
historiographical narratives, collective cultural memory or clichés of entertainment culture. Using literary, visual and musical examples, this conference is an investigation into the memories of the democratization process in Portugal.
