Night Music: Singing, Clavichord and Recitation
This Serenade, performed in 2023 at the Salzburg Festival and now hosted in the "Salon de Helen Buchholtz", wonderfully embodies the alliance between music and literature in the salon's atmosphere. Georg Nigl, eminent baritone, plays in a duo with young harpsichordist Alexander Gergelyfi, literary accompanied by German actor Ulrich Noethen. In the intimate setting of the "Chapelle" of the Bridderhaus, the harpsichord with its muted sounds finds the perfect space to invite the most attentive listening. Georg Nigl, a passionate interpreter of the baroque repertoire, presents arias from the 17th century by Henry Purcell, Giulio Caccini, and Claudio Monteverdi, accompanied by the subtle nuances of Alexander Gergelyfi's harpsichord. Throughout the evening, spoken and sung words alternate. Ulrich Noethen brings to life the texts of Iranian poet Forugh Farrokhzad, creating a subtle dialogue between poetry and music. Music by Henry Purcell, Giulio Caccini, and Claudio Monteverdi and poems by Iranian poet Forugh Farrokhzad. With Georg Nigl (Baritone), Alexander Gergelyfi (Harpsichord) and Ulrich Noethen (Recitation).
