The novel:
Shelters are closed until March - but death comes and goes
Raphael, overwhelmed by losses in his homeland of Luxembourg, seeks to start over in South Tyrol. Set back from the mountains, he finds a true friend in his owner Luis and can finally breathe again. But his quest for peace becomes a nightmare when he stumbles upon several dead bodies while hiking. Luis's archenemy is also found in bad shape after an altercation. Raphael and Luis become suspects by investigators who are more concerned with skill battles than solving the case. With Luis knowing the mountains inside out, Raphael and his owner conduct their own investigation, coming dangerously close to solving the case...
