Tenderness - Theater
During TalentLAB 2019, the public was able to discover the unique and committed work of Julie Berès with the show Désobéir, which questioned the way in which young women from immigrant backgrounds invented themselves outside of family, social or traditional injunctions.
During the 22-23 season, the second part of his diptych on the deconstruction of youth, La Tendresse, was enthusiastically received by the audience at the Grand Théâtre. Highlighting a group of young men and their connection to masculinity and virility through different intimate and social spheres, La Tendresse tells the story of these men who struggle with the clichés of masculinity, the injunctions of society, the will of tradition and the foundations of patriarchy.
In the documentary vein of Désobéir, La Tendresse is based on life stories and testimonies where the intimate mixes with major societal issues. A performative theater, mixing hip-hop, classical dance and storytelling, in a device that allows an intimate and direct address to the public. As part of the focus on adolescence, Julie Berès returns to Luxembourg with a revival of this flagship play, empathetic, full of hope and highly liberating.
