Meeting with the artistic team after the performance on November 10.
Thanks to Rosa Lëtzebuerg for their support in communication and their presence at the performances with an information stand.
In Alma, director Fabrice Murgia and cabaret artist Peggy Lee Cooper take the myth of Faust and imbue it with the world of reality TV to create a sulphurous show, playing with the codes of the English musical comedy.
The curtain rises on the finale of a reality TV show where contestant Faust, about to lose, calls on the devil to get back on her feet. The pact she signs will allow her a meteoric rise, but is the price to pay not too high?
Alma is a compendium of multiple influences, combining glamorous cabaret traditions and a Goethean-inspired plot. The team brings together talented creators with a thousand facets: the libretto is written by the Irish-British composer Tricity Vogue, lyricist and ukulele musical performer, and the music composed by Matthieu Vandenabeele, accustomed to complex, cinematic and imaginative sound accompaniments. Fabrice Murgia's staging plays with the codes of television sensationalism and ratings, and Peggy Lee Cooper delivers a bewitching and audacious interpretation of the divine.
An interweaving of music, cabaret, theatre and audiovisual, this creation takes us into a universe of Faustian inspiration but resolutely contemporary and surprising.
