The Revolution of 1974. From the Streets of Lisbon to Luxembourg
The overthrow of the dictatorship in Portugal, viewed from a Luxembourgish perspective, is at the heart of a major exhibition that the Nationalmusée um Fëschmaart will open on April 25, 2024, exactly fifty years after the Carnation Revolution. Luxembourg is now home to over 100,000 people whose life paths were shaped by these events (people of various nationalities and origins, from Portugal or former Portuguese colonies). Citizens who immigrated in large numbers to the Grand Duchy in the 1960s and 1970s while Portugal was still under the dictatorship or entering a democratic process after April 25, 1974.
