Curator Machine will be exhibited in the main hall of the fair. Developed by the artist Bjornus Van der Borght (Ghent, Belgium) in collaboration with Jerry Galle, this innovative project challenges the perception and acquisition of art by presenting itself as a vending machine. Each artwork is offered at affordable prices, anonymously and blindly.
The six invited artists, with varied positions, all from the digital field, have been invited to materialize through 3D printing, the impacts of the corporatization of the Internet on social networks and the repercussion on our daily lives. Non-profit, Curator Machine gives back 70% of sales to the artists, with the remaining 30% funding future projects.
By integrating consumerist codes in a satirical manner, this unique project questions the dynamics of contemporary art, the artist-curator relationship, market structures, and encourages active public participation. Curator Machine aims to promote collective artistic experimentation and appropriation of market mechanisms.
By focusing on inclusivity and experimentation, Curator Machine positions itself as a catalyst for social change, exploring how art can become a vector for alternative proposals in our society.
