Screening of the documentary "La fourchette à gauche"
On the eve of the destruction of the building that hosted it for over fifty years, how did the Cercle Culturel Curiel, with its trattoria appearance, manage to have a major influence on political and cultural life in Luxembourg? The screening will be followed by a discussion with Donato Rotunno (director of the documentary). The documentary explores how the Circolo Curiel, with its trattoria appearances, had a significant impact on the political and cultural life in Luxembourg. The film features political figures from Luxembourg such as Claude Turmes, Corinne Cahen, Mars di Bartolomeo, and David Wagner, cultural personalities like Enrico Lunghi (former director of Mudam) and Alexis Juncosa (artistic director of LuxFilmFest), as well as historical members of the association, including Giovanni Grilli, founding member of Curiel, former communist activist and witness to the political evolution of the association; and Franco Barilozzi, founder of the Festival of Migrations, Cultures, and Citizenship, and former president of Circolo Curiel, where he acted as a liaison between the Italian community and other foreign communities in Luxembourg for years.
