Niklos Expo at the Cathedral
In Luxembourg, the tradition of Saint Nicholas Day is on the national list of intangible cultural heritage. But who was this man to whom children have been writing long wish lists for generations every year before December 6th, and whose statue or image can be found in many places, not only in churches, throughout the year? Where does he come from? What legends surround him, and what is the tradition, especially in Luxembourg? The legends and traditions of Saint Nicholas Day are presented. In addition, photos of representations of Niklos and festivals in his honor from across the country are shown. Historical reports and documentary films from the 40s to 80s are also projected.
Admission is free! There will also be a program for children offered.
