One of the major transformations that have taken place for more than a century in the Minett region is undoubtedly the fundamental and spectacular reshaping of the landscape. As the rural spaces and forest landscapes were devastated by heavy industry, a large-scale recomposition occurred when the steel industry disappeared, freeing up vast areas.

This landscape transformation is also reflected in the works of artists who have been inspired by the impressive upheavals experienced by the region over the last two centuries. Antoinette Lorang takes us on a journey through the history of Luxembourgish art, illustrating, with a selection of images from representative artists, how the artistic representation of the Minett region has changed over time.

The artistic perspective on the Minett landscape is part of the book "Paysages du fer", published by art historian Antoinette Lorang, together with historian Luciano Pagliarini and architect Jean Goedert, as part of Esch2022. It narrates the transformation of this unique landscape, intimately linked to the steel industry, from the 18th century to the city of tomorrow.
