How can we morally deal with the findings of biology and medicine? This question is becoming increasingly urgent, especially since humans have begun to understand themselves as biological beings. In light of current challenges such as environmental destruction, poverty, and wars, bioethical considerations are increasingly at the forefront. At the same time, the belief in progress, such as in the transhumanism debate, raises new moral questions: What do we owe other living beings? Where does human selfishness end and where does its responsibility for the community begin? In this workshop, we will collectively explore the basics of bioethics and discuss practical case examples.
