We are delighted to announce the release of the edited volume “The Impact of War Experiences in Europe: The Conscription of Non-German Men and Women into the “Wehrmacht” and the “Reichsarbeitsdienst” (1938-1945)” edited by Nina Janz and Denis Scuto, as part of the WARLUX project (“Soldiers and their Communities in World War II: The Impact and Legacy of War Experiences in Luxembourg”).
This book is the result of the October 2022 international symposium on the war experiences of soldiers forcibly recruited to the C²DH and the WARLUX project ("Soldiers and their communities during the Second World War: impact and legacy of war experiences in Luxembourg"), funded by the National Research Fund, FNR (2020–2024).
This publication is the second volume in the De Gruyter series “Studies on the Transnational History of Luxembourg” and brings together 13 contributions from scholars from all over Europe. The book examines the war experiences of men and women forcibly conscripted into the German Wehrmacht and Reichsarbeitsdienst during the Second World War.
