Repair Cafés are volunteer meetings where participants repair their broken items together: computing hardware & software, furniture, electrical appliances, toys, textiles/clothing, bicycles, mechanical devices. During this Repair Café, it is possible to bring jewelry for repair.
If you have skills in electronics, woodworking, mechanics, sewing, etc., and know how to repair, feel free to contact us to support the Repair Café! You can also help with welcoming guests and organizing.
For touch-screen devices/smartphones, the services generally will be limited to diagnostics and advice. It is strongly recommended to have these devices repaired by specialized stores.
What should I check before coming?
- Device power: is the control light on? Are the batteries charged? Is the power cord in good condition?
- Device maintenance: empty the filters of hairdryers and vacuum cleaners, descale coffee machines, etc.
What should I bring for the repair?
Think of all the necessary items to test your object for repair. Charger, cable, manual if available. For a HiFi system: remote control, speakers. For your TV: connection cables. The spare part if you have identified it.
Please note, it is possible that there may not be competent repairers for specific topics on the day of the event.
Good to know
It is possible to bring jewelry for repair. Services for touchscreen devices are limited to diagnostics and advice.
