On a foggy night in Brussels, disturbing events were reported by various witnesses. These fanciful stories would never have been taken seriously if they didn't overlap so faithfully. They spoke of a shabby hotel, a dark alley, an abandoned station, an old lady… and sauerkraut! You enter these stories as you dive into cold water, having to muster your courage and accept that once the line is crossed, there is no turning back. We delve into the universe of some unfairly forgotten Belgian authors: Jean Ray, Thomas Owen, and Jacques Sternberg, the masters of fantasy, horror, and black humor. Between legend and modernity, we embark on a doomed quest for meaning, encountering the absurd and surreal.
