Is every autobiography a lie, an invention? What of what Guy tells is true? And if identity thinking is already a narrative on a personal level, how does it look when it involves a whole group or even a nation?
Guy, whoever he may be, has had enough of all the alternative truths, the so-called narratives, well-intentioned but not thoroughly thought out.
Locked in the Kasemattentheater, he monologues about the Prime Minister, about Luxembourg, about how the harmony of identity is nothing more than the melody of totalitarianism. In doing so, scenes from his life, thoughts, and behavior confront him. Parents appear, childhood friends, love.
All that he erases. But nothing fits together.
Homogeneity seems to be a puzzle with pieces that don't fit, the core being the result of a reduction that leaves something out. And that is what people then call identity. Absurd, grotesque, says Guy, laughing as much about all this noise as probably the audience about his chatter.
