Official Competition Mo HARAWE, 133 min, 2024 - Austria, France, Germany, Somalia.

Mamaragade lives with his son in a small village in the heart of the Somali desert. He survives by doing odd jobs, but the competition is tough and his situation is becoming precarious. His sister, a young woman recently divorced because of her husband's desire for polygamy, comes to live with them. She dreams of opening her own shop, but the path is strewn with obstacles.
In its carefully controlled photography and framing, this debut film delicately explores the relationships between its characters, capturing their silences, their gazes and their expectations. It also depicts the socio-political situation in Somalia, as well as the difficulty for women to assert their independence.
