Life is a party - Theater
The merry band of Chiens de Navarre around Jean-Christophe Meurisse and Amélie Philippe, enfants terribles of French theatre, dubbed the craziest company in France, comes to the Théâtres de la Ville with its successful show between farce and crazy tragicomedy: La vie est une fête.
Here we are in the psychiatric emergency room, one of the few places that accepts anyone at any time, regardless of age, gender, or nationality, with the backdrop of the porosity of beings to violence, political and social inconsistencies, and the brutal transformations of our civilization. A real airlock of humanity. Can we all go crazy? What prevents us from taking action? Life is a party is a dissection, not without fierce humor, of the fragility of human beings, who suffer because of the deplorable state of the world. And besides, wouldn't madness be the ultimate path to reinventing love, to reinventing life, to reinventing beauty? Nothing is more human than madness, in short.
Through universally evocative situations, implementing the now proven technique of writing guided by improvisations on stage, the Chiens de Navarre once again draw many serious questions towards the burlesque dimension lurking in our existences. A collective therapy based on laughter in the face of an anxiety-provoking state of the world.
