The Tidy Old Man by Jean Pierre Dopagne featuring Patrick Donnay and Manon Hanseeuw. Henri Cambier, a renowned old archaeologist, goes for a walk by the river and disappears without a trace. He is believed to be dead. One year and fourteen days later, shortly before New Year's Eve, he bursts into the family home where he surprises his daughter Jeanne who is settling his affairs. Why did he leave? Why is he back? Jeanne wants to understand.
Under the cover of night, Henri will discover a wounded daughter who blames him for preferring his career over his children. And Jeanne will meet a complex, tormented, and secretive father. With a mix of modesty, sharpness, and humor, they will dig together into the past to 'tidy up' and find back tenderness in life!
With the sound environment of the famous Schubert quartet 'Death and the Maiden,' the delicate and humorous dialogue leads us to essential questions about the meaning of life and our relationship with our parents.
