After Omma (20·21), dancer and choreographer Josef Nadj continues the adventure by creating Full Moon with seven dancers from Africa who were already present in his previous show. By summoning the figure of the puppet and the significant force of the mask, present in African cultures, he encourages the performers to draw on their buried memories, in order to confront the rhythms and energies of the earth, nature and ancestral traditions. The piece also delves into the roots of African-American jazz, paying homage through dance to artists such as Charles Mingus, Cecil Taylor, Anthony Braxton and the Art Ensemble of Chicago. A poetic and passionate show that reveals the dance component of jazz.
