Join us for a discussion of the novel *The Vegetarian* by Han Kang, the 2024 Nobel Prize Winner. Han's first novel to be translated into English, *The Vegetarian*, won the 2016 Man Booker International Prize. At around 160 pages, it's a relatively short read. Before the nightmares began, Yeong-hye and her husband lived an ordinary, controlled life. However, disturbing dreams depicting blood and brutality torment her, leading her to renounce meat consumption. This minor act of independence spirals into a grotesque chain of events affecting her family and life, driving her towards personal alienation.
