Elusive, compelling, often disconcerting and eminently readable – the novels and short stories of Martin MacInnes and John-Paul Gomez invite us to confront a world that is “wider and wilder than we thought” (Simon Ings in "The Times", writing about MacInnes’ latest novel, "In Ascencion"). With great insight into the human condition, they address the most pressing question of our times, the future of humanity. Nathalie Jacoby will be talking to the authors about what lurks beneath.
Best-selling Scottish writer Martin MacInnes has won great critical acclaim with his novels and short stories. His latest novel, "In Ascension", published in 2023, was longlisted for the Booker Prize and won the Arthur C. Clarke award. John-Paul Gomez’ collection of short stories "The Idiot of St. Benedict" won the Concours littéraire national in 2022.
