At the heart of the project Plante Mère by Luxembourg artist Justine Blau is her mother's collection of seeds and nuts, brought back from her many travels. Through this, her mother shares a botanical heritage—the plants themselves and our deep connection to Earth—and a cultural heritage, consisting of stories, experiences, and her perspective on the world.

Plante Mère is one of three projects selected in response to the Art That Grows open call. These three multimedia installations provide different perspectives on the theme of the seed, ranging from personal, interactive, hopeful, and emotional to industrial and scientific. While each artist's approach to the topic is unique, they all delve into our interaction with nature, reflecting our flawed relationship with it. These artistic projects aim to expand the interpretational scope of "Graines" while maintaining its informative, educational, and deeply aesthetic impact.
