Antoine Berjeaut is back with Chromesthesia for the Franco-Japanese label MENACE, following the public and critical success of his album with Chicago drummer and producer Makaya McCraven. Surrounded by some of the most innovative musicians on the current French jazz scene, the trumpeter signs an album in which he reveals both his talents as a composer and gives free rein to his taste for experimentation and electronic production. For the conception of this new album, Antoine Berjeaut sought to establish synesthetic resonances between sounds and colors, guided by the intuition that he could compose using and diverting concepts and procedures specific to visual art; playing with contrasts and nuances in the same way as he plays with chords and tonalities, and tracing melodic lines in a space, sound and graphic, in perpetual movement.
