Local tourism: a boom to be confirmed despite the crisis
The Prime Minister, Minister of State, Xavier Bettel, and the Minister of Tourism, Lex Delles, visited the Baggerweier site in Remerschen on September 1st. Located in a nature reserve on the territory of the municipality of Schengen, the site is managed by the “Erliefnis Baggerweier ASBL”, a structure with a social connotation which is based on the principles of Design for all to offer fun experiences accessible to all in a respectful and sustainable spirit.
The Prime Minister, Minister of State, Xavier Bettel, said in this context: “The tourism sector has been strongly affected by the COVID-19 crisis. Nonetheless, the actors in the field have shown resilience, a real sense of adaptability and a spirit of innovation. We thank them for their commitment and hard work over the past few months to enable us to escape the daily grind of COVID. Being able to do “Vakanz doheem” has allowed us all to remember and rediscover the beauty, serenity and diversity of our country, its landscape and its nature, of which we can be very proud ”.
