Do you think there are only four seasons per year? π±π»πβοΈ
We thought so too and then we discovered the 72 seasons of Japan. We know what you think β72? Thatβs not possible!β. Well, the MNHN proved us wrong with this walk through the changes of nature where each micro-season is described like a poem.

We already know which seasons we want to go see IRL:
Tenchi Hajimete Samushi when the heat of summer fades and the beautiful wild flowers of autumn come back, iconic like superPo!
Sekirei Naku, season marked by wagtails singing and the best full moon of the year, highly poetic like superCamille (or not π€£)!
Shimizu Ataka O Fukumu when nature slowly come back to life, underground springs thawβ¦ itβs time to make origami cranes, time to learn superAmandine!
But the 72 seasons of Japan are not only a pleasure for the eyes, they are also to be lived and discovered! The MNHN knows it well! In addition to the little tea house where you can sit and watch a short film on the seasons of Kyoto, comfortably installed on your tatami mat, or the walking areas where you can immerse yourself in the photographs as if you were there, they have prepared a great schedule of workshops to fully immerse yourself in the Japanese culture.
