What defines a man and what defines a woman? Where do we draw the line, and does it really matter? Sharon-Rose Khumalo, a South African beauty queen, is plunged into an identity crisis after discovering she is intersex. She needs advice from someone like her. The only person who can help her is Dimakatso Sebidi, a male-looking intersex activist who turns out to be her complete opposite. The two parallel but divergent stories are an intimate look at the struggles of living in a binary world when you are born in between.
